Diamond Lake Boat ramp caretakers I don’t know who hired the current caretakers/monitors, but it doesn’t appear they are fully doing their duty. We live close to the ramp. My understanding is that swimming is not allowed from the ramp, dock or beach, but there are swimmers there constantly throughout the day. If that is the rule, then it is not being enforced. Likewise, many boat owners have told me the caretakers are not checking the boats for milfoil, etc. It would seem the state, county, or whoever has jurisdiction over the ramp should know and would be concerned with this. I will also try to communicate this to the Friends of Diamond Lake group. If they are being provided with an RV hookup and possibly remuneration, they should be doing a better job.

I would be interested in discussing this further with you. When I have been there the Host is inspecting boats. The swimmers are not part of their ‘job’. Washington Fish and Wildlife is responsible for signage of no swimming. The hosts are not there to enforce WDFW rules, just inspect boats.
